October 1, 2024, Toronto: The Zoryan Institute is pleased to announce that registration for the 23rd annual Genocide and Human Rights University Program (GHRUP) will be open starting November 1, 2024! The program will be taking place at the University of Toronto from July 28 – August 8, 2025.

The GHRUP offers a unique, 12-day interactive learning experience at the University of Toronto, featuring 65 hours of seminar-style classes led by over a dozen internationally renowned scholars from various disciplines. What truly sets this program apart is the intensity and vibrant community fostered both inside and outside the classroom.

Program participants connect with highly motivated peers who share a passion for human rights in a close-knit learning environment. Living on campus, attending classes, and participating in after-class social activities together allows students to build lifelong friendships. As students carry lingering questions from class back to their dorms, they dive deeper into discussions, fully immersing themselves in the course material while enjoying everything that Toronto has to offer. Social activities organized by the Institute include visits to the Art Gallery of Ontario and Niagara Falls.

Graduates are not only empowered with knowledge, but also with crucial career connections made with scholars and their fellow classmates. Since its inception in 2002, the GHRUP has built a scholarly community of over 500 alumni, many of whom have become influential scholars in the fields of Human Rights and Genocide Studies.

With only 20-25 spots available, and over 80 applicants expected, the Institute encourages interested candidates to apply early.
